Xbox Game Pass dropped 60 classic activision games in the new Retro Classics application, available now for all levels through Cloud Streaming.

Since Microsoft completed the acquisition of Activision, fans have watched and waited when the catalog in the publisher will land on the Xbox Game Pass. Microsoft has officially announced Retro Classics, a collection of 60 classic Activision titles from the 1980s and 1990s, now available for all Xbox Game Pass members. This launch is in partnership with an antstream arcade which is a specialist in a retro game that binds to cloud.

This collection includes many platforms including Atari 2600, Commodore 64, Amiga, and even the original Playstation where Mechwarrior 2 stands as the sole title representing Sony’s first console. Seeing the PlayStation game officially highlighted on the Xbox hardware underlines the scope of the Microsoft game preservation effort.

Microsoft promised that the library would grow from time to time to enter more than 100 titles that showed an additional classic from Activision. These games can also not only be played but they support the achievement of Xbox. Players can explore extra also like community challenges, competitive ranking boards, and high score modes.

Retro Classics works in all console devices, PCs, and those that are compatible with Cloud, further strengthening Xbox’s commitment to make games from each era that can be accessed.

How to access classic retro

Retro Classics is a cloud -based application. Although it can be installed on the Xbox Series X | S and PC, streaming remains the core method of playing. To access the collection, you must be in an area that supports Xbox Cloud Gaming and, of course, has a strong stable internet connection.

Also note that this is an exclusive game application. You cannot buy or download individual games or the application itself through the Microsoft Store. The current Xbox Game Pass subscription is needed to access and play classic retro content.

In the application, you will also find a promotion for an antstream arcad that offers a wider retro game catalog under a separate subscription model. While integrated into the same application ecosystem, classic retro antstream and Xbox remain separated from different content libraries.
